Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CharAzTable

What are the system requirements?

We recommend a webcam capable of 1280x720 resolution and a recent version of Chrome or Firefox. For optimal performance, ensure you have a stable internet connection with at least 5 Mbps upload speed.

Can I use my phone as a camera?

Yes! You can use your mobile device as a webcam. This feature works well but is still being refined. Simply enable the mobile camera option in your room settings, then join the same game URL on your phone's browser and log in with the same account. You may need to select the correct camera from the video input dropdown if your phone has multiple cameras.

How many players can join a game?

CharAzTable supports up to 2 players per game room, perfect for multiplayer Gundam TCG matches. Each player can have their own video feed and card detection area.

How does the card identification feature work?

Our AI-powered card detection automatically recognizes Gundam TCG cards in your camera feed. When a card is detected, click on it to view detailed information in the sidebar. The system uses advanced computer vision to identify cards even in various lighting conditions and angles.

My cards aren't being identified correctly. What can I do?

Card recognition can be affected by several factors. Try these troubleshooting steps: Ensure good lighting without glare or shadows, avoid highly reflective card sleeves, make sure your camera is in focus and positioned properly, and check that cards are clearly visible without overlapping. The system works best with cards laid flat and well-lit.

How do I adjust detection settings for better card recognition?

You can fine-tune card detection through the Detection Settings panel (scan icon in the left sidebar). Key settings include: **Color Matching** - Enable this to automatically extract colors from card images for more accurate matching, turn this off if it's not working well with your camera setup. **Color Filters** - Select which card colors to detect (Blue, Green, Red, White, Resource cards). If you're only playing certain colors, disable unused ones to reduce false positives. **Deck Filtering** - Use the Deck Manager to import your deck and limit detection to only your cards for improved accuracy.

How do left-click and right-click work for card detection?

The detection system has two interaction modes: **Left-click** - Click directly on a card in your video feed to instantly identify it and view details in a modal. Best for cards that are clearly visible and well-lit. **Right-click** - Click anywhere in your video to get suggestions of possible cards in that area. Shows up to 6 potential matches with confidence scores. Useful when cards are partially obscured, at angles, or difficult to detect automatically. Both modes help you manually confirm or override automatic detection when needed.

What is deck filtering and how does it work?

Deck filtering allows you to limit card detection to only the cards in your specific deck, improving accuracy and reducing false positives. When you select a deck from the Deck Manager, the detection system will only try to identify cards that are actually in your deck. This is especially useful if you're playing with a focused deck and want to avoid misidentifying similar-looking cards from other sets.

How do I import and manage my decks?

You can manage your decks through the Deck Manager (accessible from the game room). The system supports multiple import formats: **JSON Array** format like ["ST01-009", "GD01-002"], **Quantity Format** like "4 GD01-003 Unicorn Gundam" where you specify how many copies of each card, and **List Format** with cards separated by commas or new lines. Once imported, you can view your deck's cards, export decks for sharing, and delete decks you no longer need.

Should I use deck filtering or detect all cards?

It depends on your play style and setup. **Use deck filtering** if you have a specific deck and want more accurate detection with fewer false positives, if you're playing competitively and only need to identify your own cards, or if you're experiencing too many incorrect card identifications. **Use 'No Deck (All Cards)'** if you want to identify any card that appears on camera, if you're testing or examining cards outside your deck, or if you frequently switch between different decks during play.

What card formats are supported for deck import?

The deck import system is flexible and supports several formats: **JSON Array**: ["ST01-009", "GD01-002", "ST01-015"] - useful for programmatic deck lists. **Quantity Format**: Lines like "4 GD01-003 Unicorn Gundam" or "3 ST01-009" - common in deck building tools. **Variant Support**: Supports bracket notation for card variants like "1 GD01-090 (P2) Duo Maxwell" which automatically converts to "GD01-090_p2". **List Format**: Simple comma or line-separated card IDs. The system automatically detects which format you're using and validates that card IDs follow the correct pattern (like ST01-009 or GD01-002).

Do I need to create an account?

Currently, you can join games without an account, but we recommend creating one for the best experience. Account features help us maintain service quality and may include additional features like game history and personalized settings in future updates.

Can I play different Gundam TCG formats?

Absolutely! While our interface is optimized for standard multiplayer matches, you can play any Gundam TCG format you prefer. The card detection and video features work regardless of the specific ruleset you're using.

How does the video and audio work?

CharAzTable uses peer-to-peer technology for video and audio streaming, ensuring low latency and high quality. Your video feeds are transmitted directly between players for the best possible experience. For backup communication, we also recommend having Discord available.

What data do you collect?

We collect minimal data necessary to provide the service: basic usage analytics to improve performance, temporary game session data (cleaned up after each session), and optional account information if you choose to register. Video streams are peer-to-peer and not stored on our servers. We do not collect or store personal card collection data.

Is CharAzTable free to use?

Yes! CharAzTable is completely free to use for now. We're passionate about making Gundam TCG accessible to players worldwide and are committed to keeping the core features available at no cost.

Why was CharAzTable created?

CharAzTable was built to bring Gundam TCG players together regardless of distance. We wanted to create a platform that captures the authentic feeling of playing in person, with clear video, automatic card recognition, and seamless communication - making remote play feel as natural as sitting across from your opponent.
